Kengan Omega

Kengan Omega

The sequel to Kengan Ashura.

Pretty interesting. I enjoyed Kengan Ashura and this series takes place 2 years after the end of that manga. We follow a new protagonist who begins his own journey of developing his martial arts style. It’s a more traditional storyline of watching a character grow and improve compared to Kengan Ashura where the fighter was already established and powerful. Though there is a powerful new character who looks just like that previous fighter. The main mystery of Kengan Omega is the origin of this new character.

My favorite part of this sequel is seeing the end result of cowardly salary man Yamashita transforming into a confident superior after the events in Kengan Ashura.

Currently available in Japanese on Ura Sunday.

Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?

Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?

A manga about high school girl who starts working out at a gym to lose weight.

This manga is perfect for me because I’m currently trying to lose weight and it gives thorough breakdowns of workout techniques and tips for dieting. The part I found surprising was that there was a lot of comedy in this series with the main instructor constantly ripping through this clothes to show off his muscles. My only complaint is the large amount of fan-service of all the girls. Every stretch or explanation was accompanied by a huge crotch shot that I didn’t care for.

Planning on using these techniques immediately!

Kengan Ashura

Kengan Ashura

A manga about a martial artist Tokima Ouma who teams up with a weakling salary man to participate in a special tournament where corporations pick fighters to represent them.

Fairly decent fighting manga. Reminds me a lot of Baki where all other fighters have fun personalities and different martial arts styles. Artist Daromeon is very good.

There’s an anime coming in 2019 but it’s gonna be 3D and it doesn’t look promising.
