A manga about half demon female warriors who wield Claymore swords with superhuman strength to hunt down evil demons.
Both Darfox8 and I are huge fans of this series. Norihiro Yagi‘s monster designs are really elegant and his fight scenes are excellent. My only complaint about the series is that all the Claymore warriors have emotionless expressions and similar faces so it’s almost impossible to tell them apart aside from their hairstyle.
An exciting shonen battle manga. It’s available from VIZ and I recommend it.

One of the best parts of Claymore was the striking artwork by Norihiro Yagi. This book is filled with some really gorgeous pieces that capture the haunting world of the manga. My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger and contained more extras like BLAME! and so on.

Soukyuu no Ariadne
A manga about a boy who meets a runaway princess and joins her on a journey to travel and see the world.
This is a new series by Norihiro Yagi who is best known for his shonen battle series Claymore. I’m a fan of Claymore despite all it’s problems and was looking forward to seeing him try something different. Unfortunately this one has been a pretty standard shonen adventure series that doesn’t really do anything unique. It’s almost like a movie that was focus tested and had all the jagged edges removed for more mass-appeal.
Maybe things will change later but I’ve dropped this series for now.
